Enjoy the pursuit of winter high peaks on and off-trail in the Catskills. Backpack 2 mi. to set up camp along the scenic Neversink River, then bushwack with day packs to Lone and Rocky. Next day, backpack up to summit Slide Mt. Approx. total distance 18 miles, with a few steep climbs and some heavy pine brush. Not suitable for beginners, but great for fit, experienced winter backpackers who enjoy off-trail navigation and Catskill 3500 "canister bagging."
