7 ¾ mi. Step off at 10 am. Point to point. Remarkably secluded stream valley in urban setting. Tread is mostly paved w. slight incline all the way. Boots preferred, but could be required depending on weather. Trail traverses streamside parks and playgrounds, major thoroughfares, some historic sites, and some deep woods. Route details/map will be provided. Bring snax to share, & water. Canines discouraged but, if present, must be leashed. Rain or shine. "Show & Go!" (RSVPs unnecessary.) ? DIRECTIONS ? Annapolis folks: Meet at Truman Pkwy park/ride lower lot off Riva Rd, Annapolis, at 8 am. Depart at 8:15 am. Carpool in caravan taking U.S. Rte 50 W. to exit 3A, MD Rte 202 (Landover Rd). Take 202 N. or W. towards Bladensburg. [DC folks: Take MD Rte 295 (B-W Pkwy) N. to Rte 202.] [Balt. folks & others on I-95/I-495 (Capital Beltway): Take MD Rte 295 (B-W Pkwy) S. to Rte 202.] Continue N. or W. on Rte 202 towards Bladensburg &merge with MD Rte 450, Annapolis Rd. Proceed L. or W. on 450 to go under MD Rte 201 (Kenilworth Av). Move to L. lane and turn L. (opposite 46th St. on R.) into Bladensburg Waterfront Park before the Peace Cross. Meet at red caboose near restrooms at 9 am. Passengers disembark as drivers depart at 9:10 am to relocate vehicles to end-point. [Transportation-challenged folks: Take MetroRail Green Line to W. Hyattsville and find trail intersection behind station. Be there NLT 10:30 am. Call leader at 443-994-6601 to announce your arrival.] Pace will be brisk if temps. are low. Post-hike possibilities include Swedish meatballs at IKEA and holiday shopping at REI, College Park.
