0922: Hiking Around Palm Springs
Activity: Hiking
Status: OPEN

Palm Springs in southern California is famous for its pleasant winter climate and its proximity to beautiful and isolated surrounding mountains and deserts. Early April is an ideal time to explore this area as the desert flowers and cacti are in blossom and daytime temperatures are comfortable. In this trip, we will take easy to moderate day hikes into Joshua Tree National Park and into the Natural Forest lands of the Santa Rosa and San Jacinto mountain ranges that overlook Palm Springs. Local naturalists will accompany us on several hikes to interpret the desert plants and geology. After hiking we may relax at our golf course condominium at the Palm Springs Desert Princess Resort. Couples have king bedded suites with bath while singles have an individual room and shared bath. Estimated cost of $1100.00 plus airfare(est. $500.00) covers accommodations, local transportation, fees, and evening meal
