The Shepaug will be easier than the Farmington; that is why it's in this order. The Shepaug is mostly 1+. The Farmington is a solid CL-2. There will lots of places to practice peelouts and eddy turns with very little penalty for missing one. Sleeping Bags on the floor or tent outside at L's house for those who will do both days.
