Presidents' Day Weekend, two night, beginner level backpack on the Long Trail to cozy, rustic cabin with wood stove. Leisurely paced, 2.5 to 4 hour hike in. Gradual incline with varied terrain to an elevation of 2,040 ft. Crampons, stabilicers, and snowshoes required. Some loaners available. Several stream crossings. Night-time cabin temperature 30-40 degrees. Share group food expense. No fee for lodging: first come, first served basis. Must be prepared to sleep in tent if cabin is occupied. Trip size limited to 8.
