Join us for a day of canoeing on May 17th starting at East Brimfield Lake toward Holland Pond. We'll meet at the boat launch off Rt 20 on East Brimfield Lake Road (there are two). Meet @ 9:30 AM at the North side launch across the street from Streeter Beach Access Road. Plan a full day of paddling on flat water, estimating 7-10 miles depending on paddler's capabilities & interest. All levels welcome. Bring your own canoe/kayak, or borrow a canoe, including oars and PFDs, provided generously by Ken Pickren. For those who are boat-free, we have 4 spots left. Ken will spend about an hour with new paddlers to learn some basic canoe techniques. Wear quick drying clothes (non-cotton), water shoes/sandals, lunch in waterproof containers, and lots of water. Sunscreen highly recommended even if overcast. Persistent rain cancels.
